Manek, Backout Strength North Carolina After Louisville 70-63

Chapel Hill, North Carolina (AFP) – Brady Mannick and Armando Bacot scored 12 points and 15 rebounds for a 21 double, North Carolina beat Louisville 70-63 Monday night.

North Carolina finished the rally 6-0, keeping Louisville scoreless in the last two minutes and 50 seconds. The Cardinal fired only one of their last nine shots.

Maneke made a key jump to extend North Carolina’s lead to 64-60 and after owner Williams at the other end answered with a 3-pointer, Backout scored his first points in the second half on a nice pass from Manek with 1:33 left. Louisville missed the last four three-pointers, North Carolina finished it off by Caleb Love’s pitch at 37.9.

RJ Davis and Love each added 16 points for North Carolina (20-8, 12-5 ACC). Leaky Black had seven points and Buff Johnson added two points to complete the scoring for Tar Heels, who only played eight.

Manek scored 11 first-half points, Armando Pacot scored 10 points and eight rebounds, and tied the game at 36. Pacot finished 6 of 8 off the field, two points short of Brice Johnson’s program record tie for a. one season.

Jaylene Weathers, Dre Davis and Williams, in their second straight start, each scored 10 points for Louisville (12-15, 6-11). The Cardinal lost eight of his nine matches.

Louisville plays at Wake Forest on Saturday for the second of three straight games on the road. North Carolina plays in North Carolina on Saturday, looking to sweep the season series after a 100-80 victory on Jan. 29.
