Miami football 2022 best and worst case scenarios

Miami Football Program enters the 2022 season with a lot of expectations after the appointment of Mario Cristobal as head coach in December. Led by quarterback Tyler Van Dyck and 11 additional transfers, Cristobal has a good foundation for the 2022 season. Games in Clemson and Texas A&M will be a benchmark for Miami in 2022.

Sam Marsdale checked by 247 Sports ACC Football: Best and worst case scenario for every team in 2022. The success of Miami’s first-year football program under Cristobal will be judged in large part by matches against Clemson and Texas A&M, and how they finish in the ACC Coastal Division and 2023 enlistment class.

With Cristobal enlisted without a full staff, he improved the Miami 2022 class from the 70s when he was named in December to 16th. Miami Football Club is likely to be the favorite to win what could be the final season of the ACC Coastal Division. Cristobal is one of four new coaches at Sahel.

Duke, Virginia and Virginia Tech have bigger rebuilding projects with their software than Cristobal in Miami. Cristobal’s success in Oregon and his prowess in hiring have created high expectations for the future in Miami. Marsdale outlined best and worst case scenarios for Miami.

Miami Hurricanes (7-5 in 2021)
Best scenario: 10-2, ACC Coastal Champions in Cristobal’s first season.

Hurricanes have two easy ones against Bethune-Cookman and the Southern Miss. Before a massive road test at Texas A&M. Miami also has to go to Clemson in Week 11. Lots of hype surrounding the Hurricanes with Tyler Van Dyke in the quarterback and the arrival of Cristobal from Oregon.

Assuming a loss in both games, Miami would need to beat UNC and Pittsburgh at home and also sweep Virginia and Virginia Tech on the road. Other home games from ACC include Duke, Florida State, and Georgia Tech.

worst case scenario: 6-6, Van Dyck retreated.

Assuming there is no injury, Van Dyck will have to experience a sophomore slump for this to happen. This scenario would leave Texas A&M the only one to lose the conference and win only three ACC games. “

Going 7-1 at the ACC with the conference’s only loss in Clemson creates high expectations. Miami hasn’t finished a regular season with 10 ACC wins and one loss since winning its only coastal division title in 2017. The Clemson Hurricanes didn’t play until the ACC Championship in 2017.

Clemson looks weak after finishing 10-3 in 2021 and losing both of their coordinators. Loyalty and stability have been a major part of Clemson’s success over the past eight years. Texas A&M Max Johnson is expected to start at QB following his move from LSU. Johnson is the nephew of former Miami coach Mark Richt.
