Michigan State men’s basketball coach Tom Izu – the longest-running coach in the Big Ten – wasn’t happy with what happened between Michigan coach Joanne Howard, Wisconsin coach Greg Guard and assistant Joe Krabenhoft at the conclusion of their game on Sunday afternoon.

Howard is expected to be suspended for the last five games of the regular season for his role when he slapped Krabenhoft after a scuffle with Jared after the Badgers won 77-63 on Sunday.

This is not happening here.so if some of the team don’t want to shake hands you will see 15 of my buddies walking and shaking the air we’ll shake the air and I’m going to shake the air then we’ll leave.
When the two coaches met after the match, Howard appeared to tell Jared he “won’t forget it”, and Jared put his hand on Howard’s elbow to try to keep him there while the two talked. Howard was referring to Jared calling a timeout 15 seconds before the end of the match and with a 15-point increase. He also said that Jared touched him during the post-match, and felt the need to defend himself.

Howard and Jared continued to exchange words, and that’s when Howard grabbed the Wisconsin coach’s shirt. Players and coaches from both teams separated the two men, but Howard re-engaged and slapped Krabenhoft in the head with an open hand.
The Wolverines (14-11, 8-7) will be without their head coach as they look to advance the end of the season to the NCAA Championship.
