Rhode Island vs. Saint Bonaventure Odds
The Atlantic 10 was one of the most difficult conferences to pin down any night.
Saint Bonaventure was the pre-season favorite to repeat the tournament as the regular season champions, bringing back nearly all of his production. That wouldn’t be true after Bonnie opened the Atlantic 10 with 4-4.
Many attributed those difficulties to a lack of depth in the menu. But since its slow start in multiplayer, the program has racked up five straight wins. The group has been particularly dominant at home this season, holding the record 12-2 when they played in upstate New York.
They hope to keep that streak alive, as they welcome the Rhode Island team that has lost eight of the last nine. The Rams rot when playing on the road, having only a 3-7 record.
The advantage of local stadiums will be a pivotal factor as we move towards the extension of multiplayer.
Rhode Island opened the season 12-4, with all of its wins coming against opponents who ranked outside the top 150 in the country, according to KenPom. Since that period, the Rams have won only one of their last nine Conference matches.
The Rhode Island offense struggled to make up for the hole it left in its attack when Fat Russell moved to Maryland. Crime Rank 238 in the country for efficiency, according to KenPom, averaging just 67 points per game.
Much of that is due to a lack of basics. Rhode Island ranks outside the nation’s top 300 for turnover (21%) and free throw percentage (64%).
Jeremy Shepard is the show’s only outside shooting threat, tying 36% of 111 3-point attempts. The Rams’ attack is led by a pair of 6-foot-10 twins Mahel and Machi Mitchell. The duo averages 20 points and 13 rebounds per game.
The Mitchell brothers had a pivotal influence on the defensive end of the land. They led Rhode Island to 11th in the two-point defense position, putting opponents up 44%. The Mitchell brothers combined in 98 blocks this season.
Saint Bonaventure has been more reliant on its five starts than any other team in the country. The group ranks last dead in the country in bench minutes, with all five starters averaging more than 30 minutes per game.
For this reason, all five novice players average between 11 and 15 points per game.
The Bonnies have an experienced starting group that has played together for the past few seasons. Any chance of the Bonnies making a final round in the NCAA Championship should come from winning the Atlantic 10.
This highlights the importance of the last five games of the regular season, as they try to stay within the top four in the league.
Crime has been the backbone of the show’s success lately. The experienced group is interested in basketball, ranking 33rd in turnover ratio.
The Bonnies are strong in scoring inside, finding 57% of their points and hitting 52% in a clip. But problems with shooting from the outside hindered Bonnie’s success.
Jalen Adaway and Dominick Welch were elite outsiders, who together made 38% of their attempts. But Garen Holmes and Kyle Lofton only tied 39% deep.
Osun Osunniyi will be pivotal in this confrontation. He needs to get away from deadly trouble and catch paint to contain the Mitchell brothers.

This is a tough game for Rhode Island, which doesn’t have much to play for at this point. The Rams escalate after dropping eight of the last nine, and they only go 3-7 on the road. Now, they travel to confront the once elite group of Saint Bonaventure in the house.
