The golf ball is arguably the most important factor in your bag that can affect your score while on the course. Some will provide more distance, while some produce more control around the greens.
Despite this, in a recent video by Rick Shells, which you can watch here, the YouTube star made a rather bold claim about Wilson’s new “triple” golf balls, with the PGA Professional stating that: “This golf ball is the best feel of a golf ball.” I’ve ever used, with a racket, period!” In addition to the pose, Shiels also claimed that the feel of the short shots—chopping, pitching, etc.—was “absolutely exceptional.”
Wilson Triad is an impressive multi-level player who offers good distance in the long game and great feel in and around the green.

Along with the short game, Shiels is seen hitting the pin with one of his approaching shots, before letting his thumbs up on Trinity’s toughness and track-spotting abilities. However, it was around the Greens where Wilson really shone.
At £37 per dozen, the Triad golf ball is designed for those golfers who pursue the feel and control of a urethane model without having to pay the premium price of a golf ball. Wilson actually stated that it’s for: “the competitive golfer seeking to break the 80’s.”
In our review of Trinity, we certainly agree with Golf Coach Monthly’s Top 50, whose smooth feel with the putter is a standout feature of the all-round performance golf ball. However, around the greens, it didn’t provide as many spinning greens as the excellent golf ball at the round level, with softer options on the market.

Which golf balls you might ask? Well, if you’re looking for an all-round performer, the TaylorMade Tour’s reaction is, we think, slightly superior to the Wilson Triad.
At a similar price to the Wilson, it also features a urethane cover that provides a soft feel on the greens, as well as good spin control on the green side and consistently strong ball flight.
Although the pivot point lies with yardage in responses to the round, our tests showed it was about 10 yards from the Triad. While this may not sound like much, it could be about the whole club difference when out on the golf course.
