Cincinnati – The Bengals may not have gotten a deal with La’el Collins, but that doesn’t mean they’re not paying for other talent proven in free agency.
Cincinnati is interested in Bills, Patriots and former Panthers cornerstone Stefon Gilmore according to NFL insider Evan Massey.
The 31-year-old is a two-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler. It was considered the top remaining corner of the free agent market.
“The Conquerors are still considered favorites to sign corner player Stefon Gilmore and they have a solid showing on the table,” diamond tweet. “There are still other teams at play, including the Bengals. A decision has to come soon.”
Gilmore received 16 tackles, two interceptions and two passes in eight games with the Panthers last season. Carolina traded him in the middle of the year.
Prior to that, he was in New England for four seasons and became one of the top players in the NFL. He helped the Patriots win the Super Bowl he was the first pro in 2018 and 2019.
The Bengals have re-signed Eli Apple on free agency, but would like to add another proven corner that could start alongside Chidobe Awuzie and Mike Hilton.
