owning her own faults. Matthew Stafford He may be in the spotlight, but his wife, Kelly Stafford (née Hall), she has found herself in hot water on more than one occasion.
Matthew, the current LA Rams quarterback, met Kelly when they were both studying at the University of Georgia. She has been outspoken about the fact that their relationship was rocky as they navigate their acne breakouts.
“Our college relationship was the typical, I would say, one – where there wasn’t really a relationship because he didn’t want one,” the former Dawgs fan said on KFC Radio in February 2022. A little with love and hate. …we were all over the place. I made a backup [quarterback] to make him angry. This was the kind of situation we were in… He deserved it! “
Things got more serious after college, as Matthew signed with the Detroit Lions, the team he played with for 12 seasons. The couple exchanged vows in 2015 and went on to welcome four daughters: Sawyer, Chandler, Hunter and Tyler.
During Matthew’s tenure in Michigan, Kelly made headlines when she placed tickets to a match on StubHub.
“Just FYI: I bought these New Orleans tickets to take my family to the game, but found out earlier this week that my grandfather is very ill so I’m going home to see him instead,” she wrote on Instagram in 2015. Which we bought because we can’t go. We do so much for this community and I’m tired of getting angry because of this…Beat yourselves.”
However, the following year, the couple were praised for giving free tickets to Detroit first responders. During Matthew’s first season with the Rams, Kelly made a public plea to Los Angeles fans not to sell their NFC Championship tickets to 49 fans, and to buy $250,000 worth of tickets to donate.
“I haven’t seen so many opposing team fans at a match,” she said on the 2022 “The Morning After with Kelly Stafford” podcast. “And we came from Detroit, and there are a lot of good travel teams out there, but this one was wild… It was crazy. I’ve never seen anything like that, but it made it very difficult for us.”
While the duo had plenty to celebrate after the Rams won Super Bowl LVI, video of Matthew apparently walking away from the injured photographer after she fell from a podium at the February 2022 parade.
“We have been in contact with Kelly Smiley “Since yesterday’s incident, we are sorry for what happened,” the couple and Rams said in a joint statement at the time, indicating that they would cover her medical bills.
